Join us for an Academic Retreat on “Romans and the Early Church,” led by Fr. Thomas Esposito of the University of Dallas.

About the Leader

Fr. Thomas Esposito completed his doctorate in Biblical Theology at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome.  He teaches as an Associate Professor of Theology at the University of Dallas, and offers courses ranging from Synoptic Gospels and Biblical Hebrew to Apocalyptic Literature and Christianity among World Religions. He also serves the monastic community as Subprior and Junior Master.

Fr. Thomas enjoys writing, and he has written a few books, one about the New Testament and two filled with reflections on spirituality and culture. In addition, he and Fr. John team up to write monthly columns for the Texas Catholic under the title “A Word to Enkindle.”

Important Details

Travel: participants are expected to pay for their own travel to and from the retreat. We recommend flying into Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and arriving at the Kingfisher Center at least an hour before the event begins.

Cost: $1200

Academic Retreats are offered free of charge to Valor Education faculty and staff.

Scholarship: we ask all applicants to pursue funding sources through their home institution. The Valor Institute also has scholarship money available. To apply, please email Joel VanDerworp with a letter of recommendation along with your retreat application.
