Wilderness Wednesdays
The Junior class is hosting a bake sale during Upper School lunches in March and April. All funds go toward the Junior Wilderness Expedition. You may pre-order or pay with exact cash in person. No change will be made.

Amplify! Austin Day
Amplify Austin Day is the largest giving event in Central Texas, where we will go head-to-head with other local nonprofits from 6 PM on March 4 to 6 PM on March 5. The more we raise through your generosity, the more we are able to "amplify" your impact by unlocking bonus dollars!

High School Winter Formal

Parent Lecture: Kids’ Brains & Technology
We are excited to invite you to our first parent lecture of the year, which will take place on February 26 at 6:00 pm at Valor South Austin. Joining us as our speaker will be Dr. Johann D'Souza, a clinical psychologist, Harvard research affiliate, and national speaker on digital destruction and the teen mental health crisis.
After thousands of clinical hours and 15 years of mentoring young men, Dr. D'Souza witnessed firsthand how pornography, social media, and video games are destroying young minds during their most vulnerable developmental years. His message is direct: the smartphone is the single greatest threat to young people today—and parents must act now.

Smore’s, Songs and More
Join us for an evening of s’mores, songs and more! All high school students are invited to come out for an evening of merriment alongside our Upper School faculty. We will toast s’mores, sings songs, and play a few games together.

Student Holiday
While students will enjoy a day off from school, faculty from all five Valor campuses will gather for a time of leisure together at Valor North Austin. We will return to school on February 2nd.
Integrated Humanities Program Symposium
The IHP Symposium is not a normal school day, but one set aside to bring faculty and high school students together in communal sharing of our minds and our company. The event will feature two mixed grade level student seminars, a faculty panel presentation (complete with a Q&A with the students), and a keynote address given by our speaker. Our students will be able to hear and glean wisdom from not only each other's thoughts, but also their teachers'.
To help prepare you and your students:
Students will not bring backpacks, but instead, their copies of the assigned reading, along with their written responses which will be turned in at the beginning of the day.
Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will all be provided.
Arrival and departure times for school will be the same as normal.
As a reminder, there is no school on Friday, January 30th. On that day, our Faculty will be engaged in a symposium on the very same reading as our high school students.
Thank you for your attention to this remarkable day. We're all looking forward to this peak in the journey of their education.

Winter MAP Testing
Winter MAP Testing will be on the following days for grades 3rd-10th.
January 22-25: Grades 6th-10th
January 26-28: Grades 3rd-5th
Please prioritize attendance and healthy habits, so our students can perform well and demonstrate their progress.
Q2 and Semester 1 Report Cards
Quarter 2 and Semester 1 Report Cards will be released. Make sure your Jupiter settings are up to date and accurate so you don’t miss it. Report Cards will be available online for download and printing for one week.
8th Grade Symposium
On Friday, January 16th, our 8th grade students will participate in a half-day symposium event on campus which invites them into deeper intellectual friendship with one another.
This special day will give students a taste of the high school Integrated Humanities Program experience: the opportunity to seminar on a rich classical text, hear a lecture delivered on the topic of that reading, and to hear from a panel of high-school students about their experience of reading and discussing great texts within the community.
