On September 2, 2026, Benedict Whalen (Hillsdale College) began our retreat on Paradise Lost with an overview of John Milton’s life and works. While this magnum opus evinces Milton’s life of deep scholarship and poetic prowess, it was equally the fruit of great personal and political suffering.
